ISLAMABAD, (APP): Chairman Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq
has called for an end to sectarian divide and urged scholars to play their role for unity among Muslims in the territory.
According to KMS , Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, addressing a gathering of
religious scholars at Imam Azam Conference emphasized unity asking youth to follow the path of revered saints.
“Following the footsteps of Imam Abu Haneefa will lead us to the path
of goodness as he rendered his life for the service of Islam and made it easy for us to understand the religion,” Mirwaiz said. Expressing concern over the deviation of youth from the path of Islam, he said, “Our youth are well read, they excel in every field but the point of worry is they are less tilted towards the religious studies which need to be addressed as early as possible.”
Emphasizing the need of resource development in the religious sector,
he said: “We should work on developing self reliant institutions like Bait-ul-Maal which would take care of the preachers and other religious scholars so that they don’t feel dependent.”
Calling the contributions of Imam Abu Haneefa (RA) towards Fiqah and
Islamic Jurisprudence as a shining light for the generations to come, he said Imam Azam (RA) spent his entire life on making understanding of religion easier for common masses.
