Open manholes becoming life threats to citizens

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Open manholes in several areas of twin cities
of Rawalpindi and Islamabad have become threats to the lives of people as number of incidents occured in different areas are increasing day by day.
“Citizens of twin cities afraid to go outside at night when one
doesn’t recongnize that the manhole is covered or not,” a resident
of sector G-7, Aslam Riyaz said.
“Recently my brother fell down in a manhole near my home and
he severely got injured while going to his university,” he added.
Residents of twin cities urged the concerned authorities to
focus on the ongoing incidents, but unfortunately concerned
authorities failed to take steps to resolve the issue.
When contacted an official of Capital Development Authority, he
said that the authority was working on the situation and asked
the citizens to register their complaints if they find uncovered manholes.
