LAYYAH, (APP): Six terrorists were killed,while two others escaped
during armed encounter with Counter Terrorism Department’s police
force past midnight Wednesday in the limits of Chubara police station.
According to CTD sources, a credible source informed them of presence of eight terrorists in the jurisdiction of Chubara police in district Layyah. They said terrorists belonging to Al-Qaida and TTP were planning to attack offices and personnel of LEA’s. A team of CTD from Multan raided hideout of the terrorists who opened straight fire at the team.The police also retaliated.Six terrorists were found dead when firing stopped,the source informed,adding that terrorists were killed by firing of their own accomplices.
Sources said two terrorists managed to escape under the cover
of darkness.The police recovered two hand-grenades,two automatic rifles,
one TT pistol,and a mouser.CTD authorities launched investigation into
the incident.
