RSS wants to vitiate communal harmony in IOK: Gilani

ISLAMABAD, (APP): All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman,
Syed Ali Gilani in occupied Kashmir has said that a Delhi-based Hindu group
backed by RSS is attempting to vitiate the communal harmony of the territory
by planning a so-called yatra to a cave in Beerwah area of Budgam district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement
issued in Held Srinagar said the proposed yatra was an attempt to disturb the environment of occupied Kashmir and divert the attention of the people from the serious situations in the territory.
He termed as ridiculous and silly proposal by the Hindu group,
Abhinav Gupta Shashaderi Samiti, to start pilgrimage to the cave on the
pattern of Amarnath Yatra.
The APHC Chairman said the communal forces in India, backed by the
BJP-RSS government were hell bent upon implementing their agenda of cultural
aggression in Jammu and Kashmir, which had remained their prime target.
“The communal elements have prepared a false and baseless story
regarding a cave in Beerwah area which is far from the reality,” he said.
Syed Ali Gilani pointed out that the High Court of the territory in
reply to a petition had also made it clear that there was no circumstantial
evidence available to prove the claims about this cave.
“The revenue department has also denied any such story regarding the
cave,” he said.
The APHC Chairman said the cave issue is actually an act of cultural
aggression by the communal forces aimed at harming the Muslim identity of
occupied Kashmir.
He said that these actions were politically motivated. “The communal
elements want to disturb the communal harmony of Jammu and Kashmir so that
they can project the genuine liberation struggle of Kashmiris as a communal
one,” he said, adding the fanatic communal forces will not be allowed to
succeed in their wicked designs.
Syed Ali Gilani appealed to the people to remain cautious in this
regard and resist this cultural aggression. He further said that the Kashmiris were not against the Indian people or their religion.
“We have always welcomed the yatris and tourists from India but we
cannot compromise with our Muslim and cultural identity and we will resist
every such move which is aimed to challenge the Muslim majority status of
Jammu and Kashmir,” he added.
