Shehbaz reviews measures for improving public healthcare

LAHORE, June 13 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad
Shehbaz Sharif presided over a meeting through video link at
Civil Secretariat Monday which reviewed measures for the
improvement of public healthcare facilities and provision of
quality medicines.
The chief minister said, availability modern treatment
facilities is the basic right of citizens and huge funds will
continue to be provided for extending quality health
facilities to the masses. He said, benefits of the measures
taken for uplift of health sector should reach the common man.
He said, there is a need for further improving the system
of procurement of medicines. He said that there should be a
comprehensive mechanism for procurement of medicines and
supply of quality drugs in hospitals should be ensured for the
benefit of patients.
He said, mafia involved in the heinous trade of spurious
drugs deserve no leniency.
Shehbaz Sharif said, availability of doctors, nurses and
medical staff in hospitals were necessary and health department
authorities should take effective measures for this purpose.

Secretary Khawaja Imran Nazir, Chief Secretary, Additional
Chief Secretary, Chairman Chief Minister’s Inspection Team,
Secretary Specialized Health and Medical Education, Secretary
Primary & Secondary Health and concerned authorities attended
the meeting through video link.
