Thousands attend funeral prayers of martyred youth in IOK

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Thousands of people participated in the
funeral prayers of two martyred youth, Altaf Ahmed and Imtiyaz Ahmed in
occupied Kashmir.
The youth were martyred by Indian troops during a siege and search
operation in Bomai area of Sopore, yesterday.
As the bodies of Altaf Ahmed and Imtiyaz Ahmed reached their native
areas in Brath Kalan, Sopore, and Wusan in Bandipora, thousands of people
participated in their funeral prayers. The participants raised high-pitched
pro-freedom and anti-India slogans, Kashmir Meida Service reported.
Earlier, people staged forceful demonstrations in Bomai when the troops
were carrying out operation in the area. Indian police fired teargas shells
and pellets to disperse the demonstrators.
Many civilians including two women were injured in the police action.
One of the injured youth received serious pellet injuries on his head and was shifted to a hospital in Srinagar for specialized treatment.
On the other hand, more than thirty people were wounded in Srinagar and
Islamabad areas after being hit by the pallets and teargas shells fired by
Indian police and troops on peaceful demonstrations.
The protests were held against India’s plans to construct separate
colonies for retired Indian soldiers and Kashmiri Pandits, harassment of Jammu Muslims, Delhi’s so-called Industrial Policy in Kashmir and recent custodial killing of a youth, Sheikh Tanveer Sultan.
Two youth sustained critical pallet injuries and were shifted to a
hospital in Srinagar.
