NA body for strict laws against illegal trade of human organs

ISLAMABAD, (APP): National Assembly Standing Committee
on Human Rights on Friday said that strict legislation should be
introduced to control the illegal trade of human organs.
The meeting of the committee was held here at Parliament
House MNA Babar Nawaz Khan in the chair.
The committee discussed in details the steps taken by Human
Organ Transplant Authority (HOTA) to stop illegal trade of human
organs.
Members of the Committee including Begum Tahira Bukhari, Ms
Phyllis Azeem, Ms. Surriya Asghar, Ms Asiya Naz Tanoli, Ms. Zahra
Wadood Fatemi, Dr. Shazia Sobia, Ms. Aliya Kamran Murtaza and
Mrs. Naseema Hafeez Panezai also attended the meeting.
The committee decided to further discuss in detail the
issues related to HOTA in next meeting.
The committee said that strict laws should be introduced
about the illegal trade of human organs.
Chairman of the Committee said that legislation should be
enacted for ensuring strict laws against the illegal sale and
purchase of human organs.
The committee said that professional beggary should be
discouraged and children protection center should be
established.
An official of HOTA briefed the committee, said that
HOTA are committed to bring to an end the gory trade and
restore the dignity of human life.
