People throng parks to enjoy Eid

PESHAWAR,(APP): The residents of Peshawar, Nowshera and
Charsadda on Friday thronged to parks and recreational spots to celebrate the third day of Eid ul Fitr in traditional manner.
Parks and recreational spots located in Peshawar, Kohat, Charssada and
Nowshera attracted a large number of tourists and families due to effective security measures.
As per traditions, the people of the city passed the first two days at
home or visiting relatives and friends to exchange Eid greetings. On Friday, they opted for Bar B Que and Baryani parties in open atmosphere.
Tatara, Chacha Younis, Shahi Bagh parks in Peshawar have attracted large
number of families and children on the third day of Eid where elaborate entertainment arrangements were made for them by the District Government.
Sardaryab picnic point on Peshawar-Charsadda Road and Kund Park in
Nowshera also attracted visitors while fried fish and other spicy meat and sweet items were enjoyed by them on the banks of Shah Alam, Khayali and Indus rivers.
Situated about 15 kilometers of Peshawar towards Charsadda, Sardaryab
River picnic point attracted visitors from across the province, mainly due to its two features the riverside views and tasty fresh-cooked fish available at a number of straw-made local huts.
The visitors enjoyed different fishes including Mallhi, Singhara, Sher
Mahi, Mahasher, Swati, and Rahoo fish besides chicken on banks of the river under an open atmosphere.
Local musicians and singers enthralled visitors in Sardaryab and
presented local Pashto songs especially during evening. The brightly painted boats on river bank that offer trips to tourists for Rs 100 to 150, also attracted tourists at Sardaryab.
Khurshid Alam, a picnicker told that he had visited Sardaryab on every
Eid because the riverside views always gave him a respite from routine life, adding the natural beauty of Sardaryab, especially its long river shore, gives me great pleasure.
The festivities in Kohat also continued on third day of Eid where people
enjoyed meat and sweet dishes at open at Tanda dam.
Built on River Tochi near Kohat city in 1960, the Tanda dam attracted a
significant number of tourists from Hangu, Karak and Bannu districts.
My first priority on Eid to spend the third day of Eidul Fitr at Tanda
dam to enjoy cool breeze here, Sajid Ali, a tourist from Nowshera said. The atmosphere of Tanda dam is very excellent and full of natural beauty.
Great hustle and bustle was witnessed at city’s cinemas where several
Pashto films were released on Eid. The film lovers visited Cinema houses and enjoyed films on big screen.
Many well off families had visited tourists destination Nathia Gali,
Kalam, Thandyani and Murree besides Ayubia for Eid celebrations.
Entertainment Melas for children were also held at all major cities,
towns and villages for children where elaborate entertainment arrangements were made.
I have spent all my Eidi amount during last three days on purchase of
toys after visiting entertainment Melas in Peshawar and Nowshera along with my family members, Ehtisham, 18 years old boy from Nowshera told APP at Chacha Younis park.
Police have made effective security arrangements in parks and cinema
houses for tourists and local residents.
