Rain with gusty winds likely at isolated places

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Rain-thunderstorm with gusty winds is
expected at isolated places of upper areas of KP, Punjab, FATA
besides Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan in next 24 hours however,
mainly hot and humid to prevail in other parts of the country.
Rainfall is forecast at Malakand, Hazara divisions, at upper
Punjab in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore divisions, upper FATA
Parachinar, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Weak seasonal low lies over Balochistan. Monsoon has subdued
due to non-incursion of monsoon currents over Pakistan. A westerly
trough is still prevailing over upper parts of the country and
likely to persist during next 36 to 48 hours, an official of Met
office told APP.
In last 24 hours weather remained hot and dry in most parts of
the country. However, rain-thunderstorm occurred at isolated places
of Malakand, Quetta divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Rainfall recorded during this time span was Gilgit-Baltistan:
Chillas 05mm, Hunza 02mm, KP: Kalam 03mm and Balochistan: Barkhan
01mm.
Maximum temperatures recorded on Tuesday were Dadu, Rohri, Sh.
Benazirabad, Sukkur, Turbat 41øC, Nokkundi, Dalbandin, Noorpurthal,
Rahim Yar Khan 40øC, Lahore 38øC, Faisalabad 37øC, Multan, Peshawar,
Hyderabad 36øC, Islamabad, Quetta 35øC, Muzaffarabad 33øC, Karachi,
Chitral 32øC, Dir 30øC, Kalat 29øC, Skardu 28øC, Gilgit 27øC, Murree
24øC and Hunza 20øC.
