MARDAN, (APP): At least 12 people were killed and 44 others injured when a suicide bomber blew himself up at the entrance of Mardan’s district and session court here on Friday.
DPO Mardan told journalists that it was a suicide attack.A policeman Junaid Khan was among the dead while another cop Shahzad sustained injuries. Police and eye witnesses said the suicide bomber threw a hand-grenade at the gate of the courts and then entered the premises and blew him-self up.
The injured were rushed to the District Mardan Hospital and Mardan Complex where an emergency was declared.
The police and security forces rushed to the blast site and collected evidence from the scene.
