UN council to begin work on new N. Korea sanctions resolution

UNITED NATIONS, United States, (APP/AFP): The UN Security Council agreed Friday to immediately begin drafting a new resolution that would impose fresh sanctions on North Korea after its fifth nuclear test.
“The members of the Security Council will begin to work immediately on appropriate measures under article 41 and a Security Council resolution,” said New Zealand’s Ambassador Gerard van Bohemen, who holds the council’s rotating presidency.
Article 41 of the UN charter provides for sanctions.
