Sincere steps needed for Kashmir settlement: Ali Gilani

ISLAMABAD,(APP): Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), Syed Ali Gilani has said that sincere steps are needed to resolve the Kashmir dispute, which is a bone of contention between Pakistan and India in the South Asian region.
According to KMS, Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Held Srinagar said “Under the garb of Uri episode euphoria of war like situation is being created by Indian media and their politicians.”
“Their intention to bury the issue under carpet is evident and for this they are resorting to blame game against Pakistan,” he added.
“Need of the hour is that India should shun their denial tactics and accept the disputed nature of Jammu and Kashmir and start parleys for addressing the core issue of Jammu Kashmir, but it is very sad and disheartening that vitiating situation between two countries is increasing with every passing day,” the ailing leader lamented.
Commenting on the unrealistic approach of Indian authorities, Syed Ali
Gilani said, “It is ridiculous and unwise to add fuel to already vitiated
situation and God forbid if the war between the two flares up, the South Asian region can’t be saved from destruction and devastation.”
In his appeal to international community, he said the world owes an
obligation and can’t ignore their responsibilities as it is morally bound to help parties for lasting and meaningful solution of the Kashmir dispute.
“Kashmir is a recognized and internationally accorded issue and the
decision regarding its political destiny is yet to be decided,” he added.
In reference to a recent verdict handed down by Indian Supreme Court about Hurriyet leaders, Syed Gilani said, “We are striving for a just cause through peaceful means and no law on earth can denounce the peaceful struggle or deny the right to pursue the freedom movement.”
He condemned the authorities for registering the cases against religious clerics under sedition in Chenab valley.
