Hong Kong stocks end higher after late rally

HONG KONG, (MILLAT+APP/AFP): A late surge saw Hong Kong stocks end slightly higher Wednesday, having spent most of the day in negative territory, while Postal Savings Bank of China was slightly up on its debut after a $7.4 billion IPO.
The Hang Seng Index added 0.20 percent, or 47.75 points, to 23,619.65.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.34 percent, or 10.31
points, to 2,987.86 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on
China’s second exchange, dipped 0.15 percent, or 2.96 points, to 1,978.30.
