ISLAMABAD, Oct 6 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif,Thursday acknowledged the contribution of Food and AgricultureOrganization (FAO) in poverty reduction and food security inPakistan. “We deeply appreciate the role of FAO in emergency andrehabilitation assistance for the Temporarily Displaced Persons(TDPs). The livelihood restoration programmes of the organization indisaster affected areas also deserve our profound appreciation,” thePrime Minister said in a meeting with Director General FAO JoseGraziano da Silva here at PM House. Acciording to a PM Office statement, the premier Nawaz said the government would extend all possible cooperation to supporting FAO’s activities related to food security.
