Minor boy succumbs to his injuries in Srinagar

ISLAMABAD, (APP): A minor boy has succumbed to his injuries at a
hospital in Srinagar, raising the number of civilians killed by Indian forces during the ongoing Kashmir Intifada to 110.
According to KMS, the 12-year-old school boy, Junaid Ahmad, sustained
head injuries when Indian forces fired pellets on peaceful protesters in Saidpora area of Srinagar, yesterday. He was shifted to Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar where he succumbed to his injuries early Saturday morning.
Thousands of people reached the home of the martyred youth when his
dead body was brought from the hospital at around 6 AM. They marched towards the Martyrs’ Graveyard at Eidgah in Srinagar to offer his funeral prayers. They shouted high-pitched pro-freedom and anti-India slogans. Indian police fired teargas shells on the funeral procession near Aali Masjid, injuring many people. The police action triggered massive clashes between the protesters and the police personnel.
“The dead body is lying on ground as mourners have been pushed back,”
a photo-journalist who reached the spot early morning said, “media men have been clearly told to stay away from the funeral.”
With the killing of Junaid Ahmad, the death toll in the ongoing
Intifada has risen to 110. The Intifada was triggered by the extrajudicial murder of noted freedom-fighter, Burhan Wani, on July 8, this year.
