CCPA seeks Rs 2.76 per unit cut in tariff for September

ISLAMABAD, Oct 21 (APP): The Central Power Purchase Agency(CPPA) requested the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority(NEPRA) to reduce Rs.2.76 per unit for September under monthly fuel adjustment mechanism. Official sources told APP here that in a petition, the CPPA submitted to the regulator that some 10.034 billion units were sold in September costing Rs.36.85 billion. The power companies charged reference fuel charges of Rs.6.43per unit while the actual fuel cost remained at Rs.3.67 per unit.Therefore, a refund of Rs.2.76 was required to be passed on to the consumers.
