Winter to formally set in from December this year: PMD

ISLAMABAD, Oct 25 (APP): Director General Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Dr. Ghulam Rasool Tuesday said this year, Winter season would formally start by the month of December with less than average rains. “Prolonged dry weather prevailing in most parts of the country, insignificant rains and delay in advent of Winter season were all the result of Climatic Change impacts in the region”, Dr. Ghulam Rasool said. He said the weather patterns usually keep on changing due to overall climate change impacts. “Dry spell would persist by the month of December and no significant rain is likely during the period”. Dr. Ghulam Rasool said the day and night temperatures are falling with each passing day which would turn the weather cold especially during the night time. According to the PMD, mainly dry weather is expected in mostparts of the country including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh,Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during next 24 hours.
