Work to install floodlights at LCCA ground next month

LAHORE,Oct 26 (APP)-Work to install international standard floodlights at the Lahore City Cricket Association ground will start next month and the project will be completed at a cost of Rs 59 million. “The project will be completed under the supervision by Sports Board Punjab in a month time and with the installation of most modern lights a new era of night cricket will begin in the city”,said President,LCCA, Khawaja Nadeem Ahmed while talking to APP here on Wednesday. With the installation of lights,LCCA ground will become the first ever regional cricket venue in the Punjab Province to have international standard lights which will help in developing a new culture of night cricket in the city,he added. He said the credit goes to Hamza Shahbaz,MNA for getting the project approved from the Punjab Chief Minister,Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif who is taking keen interest in the promotion of sports,specially cricket in the province. LCCA President gave many presentations on night cricket to Hamza and also discussed with him the importance of the night cricket. Nadeem said a leading international electronic firm has been assigned the task to equip the ground with lights and the work to erect huge poles will be started next month.
