Farmers advised to cultivate high yielding varieties of chilli

FAISALABAD, Oct 26 (APP): The agriculture expert has advised farmers to cultivate only high yielding chilli varieties with tolerance to pests and diseases. Director Vegetables Ayub Agricultural Research Institute (AARI) Muhammad Najeebullah said that Gola Peshawari and Tatapuri are high yielding varieties. He said most suitable time of cultivating chilli in central parts of Punjab is last week of October to first week of November, however chilli crop could be cultivated in southern and western parts of Punjab till end of October. He further said Bahawalpur, Rahim yar Khan, Bahawalnagr, Okara and Toba Tek Singh districts are best for red chilli cultivation and Chiniot, Gujranwala, Kasur and Sheikhupura districts are best for green chilli.
