‘Precision agriculture imperative to meet demand of increasing population’

FAISALABAD, Oct 26 (APP): Experts at a workshop called for adopting precision agriculture to make the sector profitable and meet the demand of increasing population. They addressed the concluding session of workshop titled precision agriculture arranged by US Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Agriculture and Food Security, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, here on Wednesday. The session was chaired by USPCAS Chief of Party Dr Bahir Ahmad Khan while Dean Faculty of Agricultural Engineering Dr Allah Bukhsh, USPCAS Precision Agriculture Chair Dr Jahanzeb Masood Cheema and other notables also spoke on the occasion. Addressing on the occasion, Dr Bashir Ahmad said that farming community was suffering due to different challenges facing the sector. He said that it is need of the hour to adopt the modern agriculture practices to make it the profitable. He stressed the need to create the awareness among the farming community about increasing the per acre production.
