Hong Kong stocks fall for fifth straight day

HONG KONG, Oct 31 (APP/AFP) – Hong Kong stocks ended slightly lower Monday, extending a losing streak to five straight days, after the FBI said it was again investigating presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s use of private emails while secretary of state. The Hang Seng Index shed 0.09 percent, or 20.27 points, to 22,934.54. In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dipped 0.12 percent, or 3.78 points, to 3,100.49. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, eased 0.08 percent, or 1.74 points, to 2,050.28.
