FATA reforms to be completed as per wishes of tribal people: Governor

PESHAWAR, Nov 9 (APP): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Iqbal Zafar
Jhagra Wednesday said reforms process will be completed in accordance with the aspirations of the people of FATA.
He directed the heads of all the of Line Departments of FATA Secretariat
to be ready to accept this process as a challenge and work hard for betterment of the local people.
He was presiding over a high level meeting at FATA Secretariat Peshawar
on Wednesday. Beside others, the meeting was also attended by Additional Chief Secretary FATA Mr. Fida Wazir, UNDP representative Jehangir, Secretary Finance, Secretary Social Sector, FATA and heads of the attached departments.
The Director General Projects, FATA Islam Zeb briefed the Governor
regarding ongoing reforms process in FATA and explained that 10 years developmental plan is being prepared with the help of the Federal Government to develop all sectors with special focus on education, health, infrastructure and mineral sectors.
The Director General further said that every effort is being made to be
ready to hold the local government election in FATA by the end of next year. Similarly efforts are also under way to establish the judiciary system in FATA with the support of the Peshawar High Court. Besides, the existing strength of Levy in FATA will also be doubled within the next 5 years.
