PARIS, (MILLAT+APP/AFP) – France’s former
economy minister Emmanuel Macron, a 38-year-old fresh face in national politics, announced his bid for the presidency on Wednesday, adding new uncertainty to next year’s election.
“I’m ready, that’s why I am candidate for the French presidency,” he
said at a press conference held at a training centre in a gritty suburb northeast of Paris.
