Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, (MILLAT+APP): Three ships Xpress Kailash, Lia-M and
Octaden carrying containers, canola seeds and chermicals were allotted
berths at Qasim international Container Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer
Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Sunday.
Meanwhile seven more ship with containers, phosphoric acid, LPG,
diesel oil and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port
Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 47% on Sunday where a
total of seven ships namely Xpress Kailash, Diyaa-B, Unico Sienna,
Octaden, Al-Kharsaah, Lion-M and Shalamar were occupled at PQA berth
to load/offload containers, cement, fertilizer, chemicals, LNG and
furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 78,957 tonnes, comprising 76,183 tonnes import
cargo and 2,774 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo
carried in 290 containers TEUs (144 imports TUEs & 146 TUEs exports)
was handied at the Port during last 24 hours.
Two ships, container vessel Xpress Kailash and Chemicals carrier
octaden sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while LNG carrier Al-
Kharsaah in expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Four ships, Al-Kharj, MSC Pamela, MSC Valencia and Globe Tanya
carrying containers and LPG are expected to take berths at Container
Terminal berth 5,7,9, and Engro Terminal respectively on Monday, 21
November 2016.
While another container ship MSC Al-Ghero is due to arrive at
Port Qasim on Tuesday.
