Shanghai up slightly after central bank boost

HONG KONG, (APP/AFP): Shanghai shares were slightly higher
by the break on Tuesday, after investors gave a muted reaction to a central bank cut in reserve requirements to boost the sluggish economy.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.20 percent, or 5.48
points, to 2,693.46.
But the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s
second exchange, slipped 0.12 percent, or 2.00 points, to 1,641.36.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng Index gained 0.55 percent, or 105.22
points, to 19,217.15.
