General Raheel Sharif(MILLAT+APP) said security situation in the region was tensed
and challenges confronted by Pakistan had not ended yet.
He said it was must for consolidating the achievements made in the
recent years on various fronts that sacrifices rendered by martyrs always be
remembered.
He said it was need of the hour that the whole nation and institutions
should be well aware of the situation with complete concentration on it.
The outgoing COAS underlined the need for overcoming internal
defencencies by uprooting ‘criminality, corruption and extremism’ to
effectively tackle external threats.
“For which, implementing on the National Action Plan in its spirit is
a must,” he added.
He said Pakistan’s journey towards achieving complete peace was
progressing step by step, adding “We have achieved stability gradually.”
General Raheel Sharif assured the nation that now our ultimate
destination was not far away, saying that Pakistan army would remain
engaged till complete prevention of threats whether they were internal or
external.
He thanked Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan Navy, Rangers, FC and
intelligence agencies for extending complete support in achieving success on
various fronts.
Terming the exemplary coordination and cooperation among the
armed forces a ‘precious asset,’ he said “I am proud of it.”
