Mirwaiz denounces World’s silence on Kashmir dispute

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT+APP): Chairman Hurriyet Forum, Mirwaiz
Umar Farooq deploring the silence of world community over the
lingering Kashmir dispute has said that the United Nations is
legally, constitutionally and morally bound to resolve the long-
pending dispute over Jammu and Kashmir.
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement issued in Srinagar
maintained that only a just and an amicable resolution of the
Kashmir dispute could ensure durable peace in South Asia, KMS
reported.
He expressed concern over the continued tension between
Pakistan and India along the Line of Control and cautioned that
the two countries were heading towards a terrible and disastrous
war due to unresolved Kashmir dispute.
The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad
Yasin Malik in a statement said that trigger-happy Indian forces
were feeling proud after blinding young boys and girls with
pellets in the occupied territory.
He added that unnerved by the unity of pro-freedom leaders,
India was trying every bit to dent this unanimity. He termed police
and interrogation centers in Kashmir as worst places than Abu
Gareeb jail in Iraq.
Hurriyet leader Javed Ahmad Mir visited the father of famous
martyred commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani in Tral, and hailed
the sacrifices of the family for the Kashmir cause.
On the other hand, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation
Secretary General’s Special Representative on Jammu and Kashmir
Ambassador Abdullah Al-Alim at a seminar and photo exhibition on
Kashmir in Jeddah reiterated OIC’s full support to the people of
Kashmir in their legitimate struggle for right to self-
determination.
