Hindutva ideology running occupied Kashmir: Mirwaiz

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT+APP): Chairman of Hurriyet forum, Mirwaiz
Umar Farooq has ruled out any movement forward unless India
accepts Kashmir as a dispute.
According to KMS, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a media interview in Srinagar
said that even PDP had lost its agenda and BJP was ruling occupied
Kashmir.
“RSS Hindutva driven ideology is running Kashmir. They want
to assimilate us culturally and politically. They want to maintain
status quo and do nothing,” he added.
He said that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi would have
to change his policy towards Kashmir, as the issue was political
one and it could not be resolved through development packages.
“What pains me more is that what happened in Kashmir has not
evoked any response from Indian citizens. Indian public has not
reacted the way they should have. Nobody challenges the Indian
government verdict. It is unfortunate,” he deplored.
“We are caught in a situation where India is not
acknowledging the reality, so we have to devise a strategy so that
we can take forward sentiment, keeping in view the daily issues of
common people,” he said.
In reply to a question, the Mirwaiz said, “In terms of
larger economic activity, everybody wants to be part of CPEC. It
is an opportunity for J&K also to be part of the old Silk Route,
once again. We can be part of the CPEC, even before the resolution
of Kashmir issue and become a part of central Asian discourse
rather than south Asian discourse. Kashmir can be gateway for
India as well.”
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq paid tributes to the two youth, recently
martyred by Indian forces in Islamabad district saying they were
rendering sacrifices for better tomorrow of the Kashmiri people.
He strongly condemned this reprehensible act of the Indian
forces and termed it barbaric to say the least.
