Illegally detained Aasiya shifted from Baramulla to Srinagar

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT+APP): The puppet authorities have shifted
the illegally detained Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya
Andrabi, from Baramulla jail to Women’s Police Station Rambagh in
Srinagar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the High Court of the
occupied territory on Thursday quashed the unlawful detention of
Aasiya Andrabi under black law, Public Safety Act (PSA).
Family members of Aasiya Andrabi told media that they were
made to wait for entire day after producing release orders before
the Baramulla jail authorities.
“We reached Baramulla Jail at around 10:30 am on Friday and
provided original copy of the court order, directing the
authorities to release her. We were asked to wait and assured that
she would be released,” said Irfana, sister-in-law of Aasiya
Andrabi.
She added that with each passing hour, they asked the jail
authorities reason for the delay in her release. “The jail
authorities wanted to buy the time by repeatedly telling us that
she would be released shortly,” she said.
Irfana said that it was around 3:30 pm that the authorities
boarded Aasiya Andrabi in a police vehicle.
“We asked the authorities reason and informed that we have
our vehicle to take her back to home. The authorities refused to
release her, telling that she would be dropped by the police
vehicle at her home,” she said.
She added that the family members followed the police
vehicle, carrying Aasiya Andrabi. “We thought that she would be
dropped at her home. But we got shocked as at Jahangir Chowk, the
vehicle changed route and landed at Women’s Police Station,
Rambagh,” she said.
The authorities at Women’s Police Station refused to release
Aasiya Andrabi, saying that she has been booked again, she added.
The family members demanded release of the DeM Chairperson
without any further delay.
The court quashed the PSA detention of Aasiya on Thursday
said, the grounds of detention are vague unsupported by any
material.
Routine allegations without any supporting material cannot
form base for order of detention, it said, ordering the release of
Aasiya Andrabi, who was arrested on October 4 and later lodged in
Baramulla Jail.
Meanwhile, the General Secretary of Muslim Deeni Mahaz,
Muhammad Maqbool Butt, in a statement condemned the re-arrest of
Aasiya Andrabi.
He said that even after the quashing of PSA detention of
Aasiya Andrabi, she was not released and was re-arrested. He said
that if the DeM Chairperson was to be booked again then why was
she made to travel from Kupwara to Srinagar when she was very ill.
He warned that India and its stooges would be responsible if
anything untoward happened to the Aasiya Andrabi.
