PML-N fulfills another commitment by holding LB elections: Law Minister

FAISALABAD, (MILLAT+APP): Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said the PML(N) has fulfilled yet another election commitment to hold free, fair and transparent local bodies (LB) elections.
Talking to media after visiting a polling camp outside TMA Hall here on Thursday, he said that establishment of local governments would not only empower the masses at grass root level but also initiate public welfare projects at their doorsteps.
He said that government had made best possible arrangements to conduct LB elections in a transparent manner and hoped that newly elected LB leadership would serve the masses in addition to provide basic needs at their doorsteps.
He said the elected mayor and chairman of municipal corporation and district council would undertake a development agenda to facilitate the masses and in this connection the element of corruption in development projects would be totally eliminated.
Commenting on the LB elections, he said that Faisalabad was one of the best examples for free, fair and transparent elections.
He said that position of PML(N) candidate for chairman district council Chaudhary Zahid Nazir was very strong candidate. Similarly, candidate for the office of mayor of municipal corporation Muhammad Razzaq Malik was also expected to make clean sweep.
