Mayor, Deputy Mayor take oath of offices

RAWALPINDI, (MILLAT+APP): Newly elected PML-N Mayor Sardar
Naseem, Deputy Mayor Chaudhry Tariq Mehmood were administered
oath of their offices here on Saturday.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Nazia Perveen Sudhan presided
over the oath-taking ceremony held at Rawalpindi Arts Council.
Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Naseem said that additional
development projects would be launched in the city to facilitate
the residents.
He gave the credit to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif who is
taking keen interest in the welfare of the people.
The Mayor vowed to eliminate encroachments in length and
breath of the city, ultimately impeding flow of traffic
and creating problems for pedestrians.
Addressing on the occasion, the Additional Deputy Commissioner
said that now it was the responsibility of the newly elected Mayor
and Deputy Mayor to serve the people.
It was under the devolution plan that powers had been given
to the elected members to help ameliorate the problems the city
residents being faced in day-to-day life, she added.

Senator Najma Hameed, MPA Tehseen Fawad, Zaib un Nisa, Seema Gillani,
Lubna Rehan, Sobia Shoaib, Dr. Jamal Nasir, District Coordination
Officer DCO Talat Mehmood Gondal, City Police Officer CPO Israr Ahmed
Khan Abbasi and the elected chairmen of the union councils traders and lawyers leaders, political and social personalities and notables of
the city were present on the occasion.
Sardar Naseem is the 8th municipal head and 5th mayor of the city.
