Opposition corners treasury MLAs over vandalism by force

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT+APP): The opposition legislators cornered
the treasury members over its clean chit to forces involved in
vandalism and ransacking properties during the 2016 uprising.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the opposition members
during the session in the so-called Assembly asked the authorities
to come clean on the issue instead of lying on the floor of the
House to shield the forces who resorted to vandalism of properties
during the 2016 uprising.
The National Conference leader and MLA, Kangan Mian Altaf,
told the Speaker that the authorities were shielding the forces
who have damaged public properties and ransacked the residential
houses during the nocturnal raids.
“Forces resorted to vandalism in my area and damaged public
property there but they have been given a clean chit to them,”
Mian Altaf said and asked the authorities to probe their
involvement in ransacking the public property and residential
houses.
Engineer Rashid joined Altaf and questioned for sharing
distorting facts in the House that there were no reports of damage
or vandalism to public property by police, army and other forces
and have shown utmost restraint during the 2016 uprising.
“The authorities should explain why it misled the house by
saying so. My vehicle was smashed and damaged by forces. Why
didn’t they mention that? Why are you lying to the people,” said
MLA Er. Rasheed. The MLA said the forces including police and CRPF
were given a free hand to damage windowpanes, doors, glasses,
transformers, private vehicles, shops, banks and other
establishments.
