Indian police arrest TeH leader in IOK

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT+APP): Indian police in occupied Kashmir
have arrested Hurriyet leader, Ashiq Hussain Narchoor,in Islamabad district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the police arrested
Ashiq Hussain Narchoor, who is the Tehsil President of TeH led by
Syed Ali Gilani.
The police were after him for his leading role in
organizing massive anti-India demonstrations in the ongoing mass
uprising.
Reports said that he was instrumental in organizing and
running a free medical camp in district hospital Islamabad for the
injured persons during the uprising, which was triggered by the
extrajudicial killing of popular youth leader, Burhan Wani, on
July 8, 2016.
The police in civvies arrested him while he was coming out
from the Baitul Muqaram mosque at General Bus Stand in Islamabad
after offering Friday prayers.
He was evading arrest for the last six months and is likely
to be booked under draconian law, Public Safety Act.
“Ashiq Hussain Narchoor provided all sorts of assistance to
the pellet and bullet victims and the families of martyrs during
the uprising,” one of his close associates told mediamen.
Earlier, the TeH leader has faced continued illegal
detention for six years from 2004 to 2010 and intermittently
afterwards for his active role in the ongoing freedom movement.
