Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, Feb 3 (APP): Three ships C.V Maipo, M.T M. Gas and M.T
Chemroad Quest carrying containers, LPG and chemicals were allotted
berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal
and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday.
Meanwhile three more ships CMA CMCM Tosca, Neptune-D Zhen Hua-15
with containers, diesel oil and Barges also arrived at outer anchorage
of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at the port at fifty three percent
on Thursday where a total of eight ships namely Maipo, Maersk
Savannah, Wlady slaw Orkan, Thalassini, M.T Chemroad Quest, M.Gas, Al-
Rekayyat and Bahra are currently occupying berths to load/offload
containers, general cargo,canola seeds, chemicals, LPG, LNG and diesel
oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo handling operations were carried out efficiently at the
port on Thursday where a cargo volume of 161,013 tonnes, comprising
120, 548 tonnes import cargo and 40,465 tonnes export cargo inclusive
of containerized cargo carried in 4,071 containers TEUs) 1,936 imports
TUEs & 2,135 TUEs exports) handled during last 24 hours.
Oil tanker ‘Bahra’ sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while
three more ships C.V Maipo, M.T Al-Rekayyat and M.V Wlady slaw Orkan
are expected to sail on same day.
Four ships Maersk Innoshima, CMA CGM Tosca, Harmont-1 and Zealand
Ariane carrying containers, furnace oil and clinker are expected to
take berths at Container Terminal, FOTCO Terminal and Multi Purpose
Terminal respectively on Friday, while LPG carrier North Gas is due to
arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and Safmarine Nyassa and Clipper
Viking are due to arrive on Saturday and BBC Africa and NYK Furana are
due to arrive o Sunday.
