Women rights to be protected: Muhammad Usman

SARGODHA, (Millat + APP): Secretary Punjab Commission for Women Rights (PCWR) Muhammad Usman has said that women rights will be fully protected
for which commission was making all out efforts.
Addressing the participants of a meeting held here at Commissioner office on Wednesday,the secretary PCWR said that women have a pivotal role in social development,and added that a prosperous state idea cannot materialise without empowering women.
All out efforts were being made to discourage gender discrimination, ensure women’s social stability,end forced marriages,domestic torture,besides setting up toll free helpline are some steps taken
for empowerment of women.
The Commissioner Nadeem Mehboob speaking on the occasion said that a state cannot make progress without addressing women issues and stressed
upon PCWR to highlight women’s problems at district and divisional level for early redressal.
The meeting was briefed that PCWR collected data from over 600 offices of the province,whereas the toll free helpline 1043 received 500 complaints and 44000 inquiries were completed.
The meeting was attended by Director health Irfan Fareed, consultant Commission Rafiq Jaffar, Divisional coordinator Tilawat Hussain, Principle Sargodha Medical College Dr Humaira Akram and other concerned officials.
