Necessary medical facilities being provided to Gomal University: VC

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, (MILLAT/APP): Vice Chancellor Gomal University, Muhammad Sarwar said Friday steps were being taken for providing best healthcare facilities in order to efficiently tackle medical emergencies on the campus.
During a meeting, the vice chancellor expressed concern over lack of facilities in the health-care center in the university and directed that immediate measures might be taken to make all relevant facilities like wheal-chairs and beds available for patients.
He said it should be ensured that three first-aid boxes were available, in order to promptly tackle medical emergency.
He directed the concerned staff of the health-care center to wear specific uniform during duty hours and show more dedication to evolve the center as one of the best health facilities for people.
He said that university should excel on all fronts including medical to uphold prestige of the university, which was playing important part in preparing students for modern day’s challenges.
He said no compromise would be made on quality of education and all its centers were equipped with modern facilities to impart education in accordance with the market’s requirements.
However, he added there was always a room for improvement and hoped efforts would continue for improving its overall educational system, adding the university had started in right direction to promote quality education.
He said the students who considered, as builders of a nation should be facilitated at all cost and in this regard, he added, all possible measures should be taken.
He added, it was not responsibility of only the university’s administration or teaching faculty but the parents should also join hand to prepare and guide the students for successfully tackling contemporary and future challenges.
He also lauded the services of the teaching staff, saying students of the Gomal university were actively engaged in socio-economic development process of the country, earning a good name not only for their families but the university as well.
He also informed that administration was taking measures to digitalize central library of the main campus to make it compatible to the fast-changing world.
He informed that the library had a total of 63,000 books featuring a variety of subjects, out of which over 24,000 had, so far, been enlisted in database that would benefit teachers, researchers and students by having a quick and easy access to books of their choice.
Besides other feature of the digitalization, he said that there would be three desks to deal relevant issues, separately while utilizing the latest technology and run affairs of the Library in more efficient manner.
