BTAP plantation reviewed in Swat

PESHAWAR, (MILLAT/APP): The tree plantation campaign under Billion Trees Afforestation Project (BTAP) was reviewed in Swat district where growth of saplings was found highly satisfactory by the senior officials of Forest Department.
According to an official statement issued here on Friday, Conservator of Forests Malakand East Circle, Amjad Ali Khan and Divisional Forests Officer, (DFO) Swat Yousaf Khan inspected 6,50,000 saplings planted during ongoing spring and last year’s plantation campaigns under BTAP at Tang Bunr near Matta tehsil in Swat, .
The Conservator said permission have been already received from the concerned departments to deal with threats of giants rates and rabbits causing damage to young plantation and soon forest staff would be equipped with necessary tools to counter this threat.
He urged local community not to throw waste and edible items near plantation as it attracts giants rates and cooperate with forest staff to ensure safety and protection of young plantation.
