Animals to be distributed among widows

MULTAN, Mar 4 (APP): The Livestock Department will
distribute 900 goats and sheep among poor widows on Sunday
under poverty alleviation programme of the Punjab government.
These animals will be given to those widows who are mothers
of school or college going children.
A total of 480 goats of “Beetal” race and 420 sheep of “Lohi”
race would be given to the deserving women, informed by focal
person on Livestock Department Dr Majid, while talking to APP,
here on Saturday.
He said that another 700 buffaloes would also be given to the
widows in near future.
To a question, every goat or sheep was purchased after
certification which includes particular characteristics, age,
weight and race of animals.
He also maintained that Livestock department would also offer artificial insemination, deworming, vaccination and treatment
facilities free of cost to cattle holders.
