City hospitals’ heads directed to remain alert during PSL final

LAHORE, Mar 4 (APP): Secretary Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department Najam Ahamd Shah on Saturday said that
all teaching hospitals, autonomous medical institutions and
specialized healthcare institutes had been directed to remain
high alert in connection with the final cricket mach of
Pakistan Super League to be held on Sunday.
Talking to APP, Najam said that all officers and heads
of hospitals/specialized institutions had been directed to
ensure arrangements to provide best medical cover to people
on the final match of the PSL.
He said that warning had been issued to all hospital heads
that no leniency would be tolerated at any cost in this regard.
To a question, he said the department had issued written
instructions to vice chancellors of KEMU, FJMU, Chairman Shaikh
Zayed Medical Complex Lahore, all principals of autonomous medical institutions, CE Mayo Hospital, all the medical superintendents of
teaching hospitals, heads of Specialized Health Institutions and
Director Institute of Blood Transfusion Services to ensure
foolproof arrangements to provide medical cover to the public
to meet any untoward situation.
It is pertinent to mention here that a temporary 25-bed
hospital had been set up at the National Hockey Stadium, adjacent
to Gaddafi Stadium, to meet any medical emergency.
This hospital will work for 24 hours.
