Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, (MILLAT/APP): Two ships MSC Rachele and Al-Hilal
carrying containers were allotted berths at Qasim International
Container Terminal on Monday.
Meanwhile an oil tanker `Balsam’ carrying 34,467 tonnes furnace
oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) on same day.
Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at twenty seven percent
on Monday where a total of four ships MSC Rachele, Al-Hilal, MSC
Joanna and Chetty Bottigliery are currently occupying berths to
load/offload Containers and Furnace oil during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 102,285 tonnes,
comprising 62,623 tonnes import cargo and 39,862 tonnes export cargo
inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,214 Containers (TUEs)
2,116 imports TUEs & 2,098 TUEs exports) was handled at the port.
Three ships, MSC Rachele, MSC Joanna and Chetty Bottigliery sailed
out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship Al-Hilal is expected
to sail on same day.
Four ships MSC Federica, Maersk Columbus, CMA CGM Uruguay and
Balsam carrying Containers and Diesel oil are expected to take berths
at Container Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
While a Container vessel `Maersk Salina’ is due to arrive at
PQ on Wednesday.
