PEC directs to increase female vote registration process

TANDO ALLAHYAR, (MILLAT/APP): The Provincial Election Commissioner
Sindh Tanveer Zaki has directed all the officers concerned to increase
female vote registration process especially in the rural areas so that
maximum female vote registration target could be achieved.
This he said while presiding over a meeting of District Voter’s
Education Committee here on Saturday, in which the Regional Election
Commissioner Hyderabad Aijaz Ahmed Chohan, District Election
Commissioner Tando Allahyar Muhammad Sajjad Khattak, District Election
Commissioner Tharparkar Naveed Aziz, Assistant Director Local
Government department Muhammad Sharif Sanjrani, Election officer
Khalid Hussain Rind, representatives of NGO’s and others also
attended.
Tanveer Zaki said that seminars, workshops and other public service
programes would be organized to educate the female population
regarding the importance of their votes and motivate them to get their
CNIC’s without any delay.
The Provincial Election Commissioner also directed the District
Election Commissioner to provide him a complete list of members of the
District Voter’s Education Committee, bearing their designations and
cellphone numbers in order to maintain a coordination among them for
achieving the desired results.
He directed the officers of Local Government department to launch
public awarness campaign so that people could be educated how to get
birth as well as death certificates. Specials programes and speech
competitions should be organized in the schools to provide knowledge
to the students about the importance of the vote, he added.
He asked the responsible officers to publish advertisements in the
newspapers containing public service messages for the women regarding
importance of their vote in the elections.
On the occasion, the District Election Commissioner Muhmmad Sajjad
Khattak also briefed the meeting about the working of District Voter
Education Committee.
