PPD receives around 1200 entries for letter writing competition

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT/APP): Pakistan Postal Department (PPD) has
received more than 1200 entries for 46 letter writing competition
entries from all over the country.
The topic for this year competition is ‘Imagine you are an
advisor to the new United Nations Secretary General which world
issues would you help him tackle first and how would you advise him
to solve it’.
The topic was assigned by Universal Postal Union (UPU),
Switzerland in which students not more than 15 years were
participated in the competition by sending a letter either in
English or Urdu duly verified by head of their educational
institution, an official of PPD told APP.
Winner would be awarded with Pakistan Postage Stamps Album and
certificate of merit besides cash money of Rs 20,000, Rs 10,000
and Rs 5000 respectively for first three position holders, he said.
The best letter in the country of English version would be sent
to the UPU, where a jury would select winners from the entries from world over to be awarded gold, silver and bronze medals bearing relevant inscription and their names as well as certificates and other consolation prizes.
