Police act like armed cowards to break freedom will: APHC

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT/APP): All Parties Hurriyet Conference has
said that under well thought-out plans, the Indian authorities are
creating an environment of threat and intimidation in every nook
and corner of the territory to ensure people’s participation in
the upcoming Indian by-elections, scheduled for the second week of
April.
APHC in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the
resistance leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq,
Mohammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai,
Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Ayaz Akbar, Altaf Ahmad Shah, Raja Meraj-ud-
Din, Mohammad Ashraf Laya, Omer Adil Dar and several others were
arrested or placed under house detention ahead these polls, Kashmir Media Service reported.
The statement said the police in its massive crackdown
arrested hundreds of youth. “Forces and police personnel are
blindly chasing youth, nocturnal raids continue to hunt students.
Police are detaining them on false grounds and are forcing youth
to go underground.”
“The authorities have launched a fresh hunt to nab all those
who were arrested during people’s uprising in 2016. More forces
have been deployed to create appalling and tedious situation and
forces are continuously patrolling day and night in villages of
Islamabad, Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama,” the statement said.
The statement said the police act like armed cowards to
break the will of freedom and are chasing even the relatives of
the youth, wanted in fake cases.”We have enough proof and full
details and can say with authenticity that the police in order to
pressure families are arresting their relatives or family
members,” the statement said.
“People are caged and forced to participate in manipulated
elections,” the APHC said and asked the authorities to set free
all resistance leaders and activists, and let them share their
views with people.
“We are sure people will stay away from these sham elections
and an unprecedented poll boycott will be observed by the
electorate,” said the APHC statement.
