ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE/APP): Indian police personnel in their
continued nocturnal raids in southern occupied Kashmir have
arrested several youth in Shopian district.
According to the details, the police arrested six people
including two instead of their sons during the raids in Trenz area
of the district on Thursday night, Kashmir Media Service reported.
Local told mediamen that the arrested persons included
Shabbir Ahmad Butt, Irshad Ahmad Lone, Bilal Ahmad Teli, Mohammad
Maqbool Teli, Ghulam Nabi Butt and Bilal Ahmad Sheikh.
They said Maqbool Teli and Ghulam Nabi Butt were aged 60 and 50 years
respectively and they had been arrested instead of their sons.
“Police were looking for the sons of Maqbool Teli and Ghulam
Nabi who were not at their residences so their respective fathers
were arrested,” family sources of the arrested said.
Indian police have so far detained hundreds of people including
Hurriyet leaders and activists from Srinagar, Islamabad, Kulgam,
Pulwama, Shopian and other areas ahead of the so-called Indian Parliamentary by-elections to be held in Srinagar and Islamabad constituencies on 9th and 12th April, 2017.
The joint resistance leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani,
Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has strongly
condemned the puppet administration for arresting youth during
nocturnal raids.
The leadership has called for complete boycott of
the forthcoming farcical polls.
