Police raid Baramulla jail, deprive inmates of belongings

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE/APP): Police and jail authorities
conducted an operation in Baramulla jail in the name of search to
claim finding `unlawful’ material from the inmates to delay the
likely release of some political prisoners,in Indian occupied
Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Senior Superintendent of
Police (SSP) of Baramulla, told media, “Around 14 cell phones were
recovered from the jail inmates.” Senior Hurriyet leader Masarrat
Aalam Butt is also lodged in the same jail.
Besides Hurriyet leaders and activists, dozens of young boys
facing charges of `stone pelting’ are also lodged in the jail.
The search is also part of police tactics to subject the
inmates to physical and mental torture. Some inmates were also
deprived of Islamic and literature books.
