AIOU starts books’ mailing process to 700,000 students

ISLAMABAD, (MILLAT ONLINE/APP): Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU)
has started the process of `sending books’ to its seven lakh students
enrolled in Matric to Ph.D level programmes for the semester Spring, 2017.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday, timely mailing
of course books to the students was a big challenge
especially with the increasing enrolment this year.
However it was undertaken in collaboration with Pakistan Post
and the process was started on fast-track basis so as to complete it
in the schedule time.
Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui while inaugurating
the process said that mailing books have been expedited in order to
give sufficient time to the students to submit their course-
assignments.
At first phase, a list of 20,000 students enrolled in
Matric programme was received to mailing department and the books
were being dispatched to them, the students will receive their books
in next ten days.
Books along with allied material of FA and BA programmes would
be dispatched next week, the official added.
A new computerized tracking system has been introduced,
facilitating its thousands of students to check books’ mailing
status.
The new computerized tracking system had recently been
developed through which the students using website can simply enter
his/her roll number and registration number to track the mailing
package.
The students have been advised to contact their relevant post
offices in case of delay in the books’ delivery.
The relevant staff have also been advised to ensure accuracy in
the mailing system to avoid any inconvenience at the students’
level.

Meanwhile, April 7 was set as last date for admissions in
various academic programmes.
Admissions forms and prospectuses could also be obtained from
the University’s main campus, 44-Regional campuses and more than
100- Coordinating Offices across the country.
Moreover, prospectus and admission forms of M.Phil and Ph.D
level programmes could also be obtained from the University’s website
www.aiou.edu.pk.
