MULTAN, (MILLAT ONLINE/APP): Commissioner Multan Division, Bilal Ahmed
Butt on Tuesday inaugurated the second phase of 6th Census campaign, at
Gulgasht Colony here.
Talking to media persons Bilal Ahmed stated that Census would be
completed within stipulated time period.The Census has been initiated
in three districts of Multan division, he added.
Earlier, during first phase, the Cenus was completed in district Vehari.
Pakistan army, civil administration and police were working with coordination and foolproof security arrangements have been ensured in all the districts, he informed.
An official of Census Department, Muhammad Zubair talking to
APP informed that the district had been divided into 1,632 blocks. Similarly, 26 supervisors will monitor 823 teams working in the
field, he added.
To a query about Multan district and city population during
last Census, which was held 19 years ago, the official informed that
district population was over 3.1 million, while city’s population
was over 1.5 mln, he concluded.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Nadir Chathha and officers from army were also present.
