Distribution of cattle among special women, a revolutionary step: Ayesha

LAHORE, May 28 (APP): Provincial Minister for Finance
Dr Ayesha Ghaus Pasha Sunday said that distribution of
cattle among special women, getting monthly stipend from
Khidmat Cards was another revolutionary step of the Punjab
government.
She expressed these views while addressing a simple
ceremony arranged in collaboration with Punjab Social
Protection Authority and livestock and dairy development
department for distribution of cattle among disabled women
benefitting from Khidmat Cards at Sheikhupura cattle mandi.
She said the facility would help in providing honourable
job to those suffering from physical disability instead of
receiving charity.
She said the pilot project started from Gujranwala
with an hefty amount of Rs 600 million for distribution
of more than 2500 sheep, goats and cows and it would be
helpful for deserving women of Sheikhupura and Nankana
Sahib now for selling dairy products enabling them to
earn livelihood for their families.
The Provincial Minister said the government was
providing interest free loans and vocational training
to special persons in collaboration with Punjab Social
Protection Authority and Skills Development department
so that they could earn their livelihood through their
own business.
Dr Ayesh Ghaus Pasha said that the stipend would
continue in next financial year for those disable persons
who were not able to earn for themselves.
She said the project of distribution of cattle would
be extended and maximum job opportunities would be created
for educated special persons.
She informed the participants that livestock department
was providing special training of livestock to 45,000 men
and women in villages so that the shortage of dairy products
could be overcome.
The provincial minister listened to the problems of
rural women and distributed cow and buffalos among ten
women of District Nankana Sahib.
She also distributed keys of 15 vehicles among MVDs
at Tehsil Level.

Later, the minister congratulated lucky winners women
in balloting and appreciated the performance of Punjab
Social Protection Authority and Livestock Department.
