Gilani urges political parties to work jointly for electoral reforms

MULTAN, June 3, (APP): Former prime minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on
Saturday urged all political parties to work jointly for electoral reforms to ensure transparency in next general election.
Flanked by PPP South Punjab president Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood, General
Secretary Natasha Doultana, Shaukat Basra and other office-bears at a
press conference here, Gilani suggested an inbuilt system to curb corruption.
He said as prime minister he had taken several initiatives,
including relief to farmers, issue of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa identity, empowerment of Balochistan and diverging economy towards
agriculture.
He congratulated coordination committee for reorganisation of PPP
and hoped that new blood would put in untiring efforts for party.
Gilani said that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto would visit the city
on June 8 and meet party workers, office-beaers and media.
Present on the occasion were newly appointed South Punjan, divisional,
district and city presidents, general secretaries, information secretaries and others.
