SAO PAULO, (APP/AFP) – Brazilian
prosecutors requested the arrest of powerful former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva Thursday, according to a document obtained by AFP.
The Sao Paulo state prosecutors, who charged Lula with
money-laundering Wednesday, asked that he be placed in “preventive custody” while the case against him works its way through the justice system.
